Don Diablo has signed with London-based visual arts firm MTArt Agency to “expand his artistic practice,” a representative of the company tells EDM.com.
The last few years have seen the chart-topping Dutch producer position himself as a futurist at the intersection of art and electronic music. In late 2021, Diablo’s innovative, physical-meets-digital “HΞXHIBIT III” project was sold to a museum collection that showcases original pieces by Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat and Banksy, among other iconic artists.
The towering, hexagonal structure was auctioned off by Sotheby’s for a staggering $1.2 million. He then went on to launch HΞXHIBITION, a record label he developed under the umbrella of his flagship HEXAGON brand to “bridge house music with contemporary art.”
Diablo’s collaboration with MTArt Agency establishes a springboard to expand his work to collectors, public audiences and brands.
“At MTArt Agency we are constantly looking to nurture exceptional artists who redefine art for the modern world,” said MTArt Agency’s CEO and Founder, Marine Tanguy. “Don Diablo is a pioneer in his field and represents a developing genre of visual artist who merges the art and entertainment worlds. We can’t wait to partner with him to see what he does next.”
“I am thrilled to join MTArt’s team this year; we found that our vision, our commitment and passion for art and creativity is especially aligned and I can’t wait to see the great projects that will unfold as a result of this alliance,” Diablo added. “Since 2019 I have been investing more and more time in developing my art career, and joining MTArt feels like the right step towards establishing my presence in the art world.”
In other news, Diablo was recently confirmed as a speaker at the 2023 Amsterdam Dance Event, the world’s leading electronic music summit, where he’ll host a masterclass focusing on creativity and “what makes you unique in an AI-generated world.”
